Flickrites uniting

I am a member of the Seattle Flickr Meetup Group, which as the name of it suggests, is a group of flickrites from Seattle, who get together once or twice a month. I originally joined the group in an effort to get out and meet new people, and since this was a group with whom I would at the very least share the interest of photography, it seemed like a good place to start.
The group has two kinds of meetups going. There are the photo strolls, where everyone brings a camera and we all walk around and shoot snapshots. It’s a challenge, not shooting the same as everyone else, as well as a chance to socialize. Then, there are meetups like the one last night, where we meet up at a bar and don’t leave to go anywhere. Cameras are optional for those meetups and well, you can probably guess what people do instead. The image here was taken last night.
Anyway, it’s been a great way for me to meet new people here, and if there’s a similar group in your area, I would highly recommend giving it a shot.
