Paying Clients Block My Writing

Usually, I put up a new stock-article every week, but a couple of weeks have gone by and no new tips for up and coming stock photographers. What gives? Well, life. I have been busy with things that help me pay the bills, so to speak. As much as I love writing these articles and getting feedback from all of you out there, I have had to prioritize other things for a bit.
But I guess there is a lesson to be learned from this: Paying clients always come first. I have been busy processing a large number of shots from a wedding. The picture shown here is one of them. Now, the clients in this case were friends of mine and of course got a nice friend-discount, but I still had to do the same amount of work. And even with the discount, this one job paid me just around what I make in an off-season month on iStockphoto.
This is not meant to sound as an excuse for not posting articles here. Instead, it is supposed to help put things into perspective. Shooting stock is great, you can make some money off of it, but it won’t make you rich. So, thank you for your patience and don’t quit your day job just yet.
