This is me. No, seriously. It is.
Distance is not a problem beyond time difference and most IMs leave a written transcript behind for later reference. Photos can be sent back and forth as needed. Technically, the only limitation is that I only communicate sufficiently in English and Danish.
I like the idea and might consider offering something like this on a regular basis — if there is a demand. And what better way to find out, than by testing the waters? It sounds like a good starting point for a productive session, easily adaptable if need be.
There would have to be some beta-testing involved of course…
Which is why I am announcing a contest! At least that’s what I’m calling it. Anyone interested can enter before August 29th at 1pm (PST). All you have to do is send an e-mail to: portfolio at rasmusrasmussen dot com and don’t forget to include a link to your current microstock portfolio. Only one per person, please.
I will pick 3 “winners” (read: beta-testers) and contact them directly on September 1st, to set up a session. Note that I am not selecting these testers at random. I will hand pick the “winners” to have different styles and levels of experience, to better test the concept.
So, to sum up:
- Win a 1-hour one-on-one IM chat session about ways to improve your microstock portfolio.
- To enter: Send a link to your work to portfolio at rasmusrasmussen dot com.
- Do it before August 29th 1pm (PST)
- I pick 3.
- If you got picked, I will reply to your e-mail and we set it up.
- E-mails go out on September 1st.
For good measure: You do not have to tied to any specific microstock site to enter this contest. In fact, if all you have is a Flickr account, that’s fine too. Oh, and of course I am not going to use or sell any e-mail addresses. All non-winning entries will be deleted after the three beta-testers have been picked. That means, that if you don’t hear back from me, you did not get picked for this test.
