Confessions of a Photographer…

Returning in July

The last two chapters in the Microstock Photographer’s Guide are written, but have yet to be posted on the site. What gives? I am holding them back, until I am ready to pick up this blog as a whole, rather than just post sporadic bits and pieces, such as this one.

With all my other projects, this blog was put on the back burner. Most of my activities have been focused on Zoom-In Online (notice: new blog url there!), finishing my latest novel (which was finally sent off to a publisher in May) and various other things. To make a long story short, I’ll properly return to this blog and update it on a more frequent basis on July 14th.

In the meantime, here’s a few newer posts from Zoom-In, that you might find useful:

I’m hoping to also find a new and better theme to slap on the blog, partly to signify the return of it, but also to better be able to use it to show photos. Any theme recommendations are welcome.

See you in July.

Writing in English

Part of my reason to set up this blog in English, is because of my living in the US and the people I meet here and the work that I do, some of which is directed specifically at an English-speaking audience.

At the top of this list is my new book, with the working title “The Ghost Killer”, and it is my first novel in English. In 2001, I had my first novel published in Denmark called “Det perfekte offer” (The Perfect Victim), and I have written two more books in Danish. “Ghost Killer” was originally written as an experiment, just to see if writing in English would be too much work in comparison.

That experiment has since turned out to be a lot more than that. I wrote the first draft of “Ghost Killer” during Nanowrimo 2005, took a break, wrote a second draft which went out to a panel of selected critique-readers. Their comments will be worked into a third and final draft, which I will then try to get out to the masses. That would be you.

Since “Ghost Killer” went from experiment to serious effort, and I have already come up with a few ideas for more stories featuring the same characters, it seems even more obvious that I should start blogging about it - in the same language the book is written in.

Now in English … again

Testing, testing … is this thing on?

Don’t be fooled by this first post. I’ve been blogging since 2001. I started out in English but eventually moved on to Danish. Recently, I acquired this domain and was looking for something to use it for. My natural reaction was to simply install a fresh version of WordPress and take it from there. So that’s what I’m doing.

The domain, by the way, is my name with a dot com at the end. And yes, it is my real name.

While I fiddle and tweak this site, I invite you to take a look at some of my other sites. There’s my business site, my flickr album, my bookmarks and list of recently played music. Or you can take a look at my profile over at iStockphoto, where I work as an admin and image inspector.

If you’re fortunate enough to understand Danish, you could hop on over to my Danish blog, Kammeret, or visit my podcast site, Podkammeret.
