Confessions of a Photographer…

Illustrating an introduction

Check out this introduction to the whole journaling thing, posted over at moleskinerie.com. The image used to illustrate this article was taken by yours truly, just like the sketch that is depicted in the photo was drawn by me.

Moleskines served up

Stack 'o MoleskinesI recently ordered a new stack of plain, blank Moleskines using Moleskinebooks.com (a small store selling via Amazon.

A couple of days after ordering the books, I got an e-mail from the vendor, saying that the postal service had returned the package as undeliverable. They then added, that since they were based in Seattle, they would hand deliver the order instead, if I could just confirm the address. Which I did.

So, today they call me up and say: You home? I say that I am, and fifteen minutes later a guy rings my doorbell. How is that for customer service?! I will go so far as to say, that this is the best service I have gotten in any online deal. When they could have just as easily simply cancelled and reversed the order, they went above and beyond to make sure, I got my stuff.

I know where I’m getting all my future Moleskines.

I dream of investing

Sippin' coffee and takin' notesIf I was a rich man, I would not hesitate a second to invest my money in one of my favorite products ever: The Moleskine. And it just so happens, that the makers have put it up for sale.

The company, with a staff of 13, had turnover of €12.7m (£9.1m) last year and profits of more than €2m. In the UK its classic notebook sells for upwards of £7.

This is a quote from the article linked to above and with figures like that, my investing will probably have to stay in my dreams. Nevertheless, they say you should invest in things you can believe in, and that you can still see being popular ten years from now. Well, to me it just doesn’t get any better.
